Give, offer, supply, deliver, furnish

Read the five paint chips left to right and formality climbs. Give is plain and works anywhere. Offer adds a sense of choice. Supply suggests a steady source, like a supplier. Deliver stresses that something arrived, which makes it strong on a resume. Furnish is the most formal and appears mainly in legal or official letters: please furnish proof of address.

Watch the grammar. You provide someone with something, and you supply someone with something, but you give or offer someone something with no preposition.

Provided, provides and providing

If you need a provided synonym for a summary of past work, try supplied, delivered, gave or contributed. For provides in a product blurb, offers and includes often sound more natural. For providing, supplying or offering usually fit.

One special case: provided can also mean "if". In "You can go, provided you finish first", swap it for as long as or on the condition that, not for supplied.

A support email reads: "We have provided a link below." Changing it to "We have included a link below" sounds lighter and more direct, which suits a quick customer reply.

Choosing for resumes and work emails

On a resume, provide is vague. Replace it with a verb that shows the outcome: delivered, built, trained, resolved. "Provided customer service" becomes "resolved forty customer requests a day". Applicants hunting for verbs should open resume and work words too, and support synonyms help when your role was backing others.

In emails, share, send and include feel friendlier than provide. Save furnish for formal requests.

Close words that change the meaning

Offer does not promise delivery. Lend means it must come back. Donate means it was free and for a cause. Allow gives permission, not things. Create means making something new, which is a different claim; see create synonyms if that is what you mean.

The opposite of provide is withhold, with deny and refuse for stronger cases: the bank withheld the funds.
